John ‘Jay’ Wellons, III, M.D., M.S.P.H., is professor of neurosurgery and pediatrics and chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. In addition to his role of Vice Chair for Clinical Research for the Section of Surgical Science, his research and clinical interests include improving surgical outcomes in Chiari and Chiari-related disorders, multicenter studies in the treatment of hydrocephalus, and anatomic and surgical studies of the brachial plexus and peripheral nerves.
