Use these fun date ideas to take your significant other on an adventure he or she will remember for years to come.
Forget the grocery store chocolates and a dozen roses, and skip the old dinner-and-a-movie scene this Valentine’s Day. Treat your honey to something unpredictable, fun and maybe even a little wild. We’ve compiled a few stellar Music City date ideas. Share your ideas in the comments below the list.
Skate your hearts out.
Few dates are as romantic as twirling around the ice hand in hand, especially if you’re both new to the sport, and the adventure breeds a little laughter. (Trust us, it will.) Nashville lacks a permanent outdoor rink, but it has a few indoor options. The Ford Ice Center (North Rink) has an afternoon public skate time on Valentine’s Day from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Climb mountains together (or just walls).
Climb Nashville has two locations (West and East), where you and your sweetie can get in a fun workout. If you’re newbies, stick to low bouldering routes that do not require roping in. Afterward, if you’re on the eastside, you can grab ramen at Two Ten Jack.
Soak up the bliss.
Unwind together with a couple’s massage. A good rubdown can reduce stress, relieve tension and ease pain. Gentle Swedish massage is a go-to for those seeking relaxation, but athletes can seek a deep-tissue sports massage to get the job done.
Run in your underwear.
The Cupid’s Undie Run raises money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. This short (only a mile) run in your undies is a great way to get together with friends or to double-date on this special weekend. The event kicks off at noon on Feb. 13, so you can still plan a romantic date for Sunday. Looking for a longer run? Check out the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K.
