Try yoga for chronic pain management. These 8 poses can help ease your pain and stress.

Yoga Techniques for Chronic Pain

According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine – National Institutes of Health, chronic pain can bring a variety of negative feelings, including distress and guilt.

Studies have shown that meditation and yoga for chronic pain can help combat some of these negative feelings.

The Osher Center for Integrative Health at Vanderbilt has a menu of yoga, tai chi, qigong and other classes devoted to gentle, healing movement. Learning the self-care techniques these classes offer can help people experiencing chronic pain improve their lives.

If the thought of yoga brings to mind images of painful pretzel-like poses, don’t be scared. Look for a class designed for beginners.
