Heading to the farmers market? Make your grocery list with our seasonal fall produce guide.
We’ll miss summer’s juicy peaches and berries, but autumn means hearty vegetables and cooler temperatures. There is still plenty of produce available at local farmstands and farmers markets.
For starters, many healthy greens are in season in the fall – such as mustard, collards, radicchio and kale. You’ll also find sturdy veggies like beets, broccoli and cabbage in autumn. Fruit, unfortunately, is harder to come by, with the delicious exception of apples.
When you’re planning menus, use your favorite fall vegetables in a salad. Try topping them with some of our favorite homemade salad dressings.
