José A. Diaz, M.D., is research associate professor of surgery and director of the Division of Surgical Research for the Light Surgical Research and Training Laboratory at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Trained as a vascular surgeon, Diaz currently focuses on basic science research in vascular disease. He has developed several preclinical models used internationally to study inflammation in venous thrombosis and uncover potential targets for cancer-associated thrombosis.
